Yes, it's possible...it's probably just turned off at the moment.

I set mine at 600 x 500, which is a decent size for most screens...but there is still a bar running on the top of the posted image allowing you to maximize/reduce image when you wish it.
Also worth mentioning: The auto resize doesn't actually resize the images, it just shrinks them. Shrinking, as opposed to resizing, doesn't actually help much. It just fits the image into the post a littel better, while loading time is still the same. SO...I guess it would be wise to stress the acceptable image size when posting them...the resize feature is already built into the image hosting menu...so it would only be logical to use it with respect to others.
PS: ...forgot to mention one thing...I'm working from sort of Advanced mode (if you go in the Admin panel and everything is colorful...that's not it
), just press
"Toggle Admin interface" and hit
"Advanced"...all the options are laid out much better in that mode.
And you don't have to see this guy jumping on your page ever again.
